Audition Announcement: Scrooge! The Musical at Mouse River Players
Mouse River Players Community Theatre is thrilled to announce open auditions for our upcoming production of Scrooge! The Musical, a heartwarming musical adaptation of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol with music and lyrics by Leslie Bricusse. Join us to bring this beloved holiday story to life with iconic songs like “Thank You Very Much” and “I’ll Begin Again”!
Audition Details
- Dates: September 20th @ 10:00 AM-12:00 PM or September 22nd and 24th @ 7:00 PM-9:00 PM
- Location: Mouse River Players Theatre, 115 1st St SE, Minot, ND 58701
- Who Can Audition: Open to all ages and experience levels—children, teens, and adults welcome! No prior theatre experience required.
- Registration: Arrive 15 minutes early to complete an audition form.
About the Show
Scrooge! The Musical follows Ebenezer Scrooge’s transformative journey through visits from the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future. Featuring a diverse cast of characters like Tiny Tim, Bob Cratchit, and lively townsfolk, this production offers roles for all ages, with opportunities for singing, acting, and dancing.
Rehearsal & Performance Schedule
- Rehearsals: TBA at the auditions
- Performances: November 20th-23rd and 28th-30th
- Commitment: Participation is volunteer-based. Please list any scheduling conflicts on your audition form.
Roles Available
- Ebenezer Scrooge: Older male, strong singer/actor, leads the show.
- Ghosts of Christmas Past/Present/Future: Varied ages, dynamic stage presence, some singing.
- Bob Cratchit & Family: Adults and children, heartfelt roles, ensemble singing.
- Tiny Tim: Young child, sweet singer.
- Fred (Scrooge’s Nephew): Young adult male, cheerful, strong singer.
- Ensemble: Townsfolk, carolers, partygoers; singing and possible dancing.
